If that thing is like any of Weir’s oil and gas pumps/iron it’s a huge piece of shit.

I totally want to boost my Fiat. I’ll have to get past my welding 101 status before I can take on making a custom exhaust manifold or making modifications to the existing one, though...

It already has the convenient 8.1:1 compression pistons, and I have the appropriately sized stock Intercooler left from my Genesis Coupe. First I need to assess the condition of the top and bottom ends, shore up any leaks, setup a always-on fan for the radiator, and look into jet sizing and carb options to run it through a weber 44, or whether I’d have to upgrade the carb. It’d be nice to have two carbs and just swap for the boost level. Run a 8-12PSI street tune, or swap to a bigger carb to run a 15 psi tune.

I know it’s do-able-- a lot to look into. I’d like to stick to carb’d and avoid spending $2000 converting it to fuel injected and buying an engine management system. Plus, turbo carb, kinda sweet in an old-school way.

Bruh, if that’s the water pump your engine needs to handle your turbo, I’d be worried about screwing with the earth’s tilt and rotation...

But dat powah doe!

You are going to need at least 2.

I’m interested in how Weir’s pumps are pieces of shit. Not being a troll. I used to work there as an Engineer, though not so much on the oil and gas side.

My former company primarily used two manufactures of fluid ends for frac pumps, Gardner Denver and Weir SPM. When we had a pump fail because of a fluid end, it was always an SPM. They used much thinner caps than GD and I think that put extra stresses on the fluid end and caused the area around the caps to crack.

Additionally, we also had some SPM and FMC missile manifold trailers. After several high pressure failures, they removed all SPM missiles from the field and made the decision to only use FMC missiles.
